The Xiaomi 12 flagships, that are coming this month, won’t include an under-display camera. This information comes from Digital Chat Station, a well-known Chinese tipster.
Three Xiaomi 12 smartphones are coming, and neither will include an under-display camera
Xiaomi is tipped to launch three handsets as part of the series, the Xiaomi 12, 12X, and 12 Pro. The latter will be the company’s flagship offering, and it could carry the “Ultra” name instead of the “Pro” name, we’ll see.
The Xiaomi 12X will be the least expensive of the three, and it won’t exactly be a high-end smartphone. Both the Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro are said to utilize the brand new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor from Qualcomm.
The Xiaomi 12X will likely utilize an inferior chip, quite probably a mid-range one. All three of these phones are tipped to launch on December 28, but nothing has been confirmed just yet.
Considering that neither of them will utilize an under-display camera, they’ll likely all sport display camera holes. Xiaomi will likely include a centered hole punch on all three devices. Bezels will be thin.
The Xiaomi 12 Pro / Ultra will likely include a curved display. The Xiaomi 12X will sport a flat one, while the jury is still out when it comes to the Xiaomi 12. All three phones will probably be made out of metal and glass.
Leica lenses may be included on the Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro / Ultra
The Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro are rumored to utilize Leica lenses. Huawei’s and Leica’s partnership ended, and Leica possibly partnered up with Xiaomi. We’ll have to wait and see.
Xiaomi managed to grow immensely over the last couple of years, and expectations are high for the Xiaomi 12 series. That especially goes for the Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro / Ultra.
As a reminder, the Xiaomi MIX 4 is also rumored. That phone will likely include an under-display camera, though we don’t know when will it launch. It will also utilize the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, most likely.
