You may or may not remember, but once upon a time, Blizzard’s Battlenet games were available on GeForce NOW. Not every single game, mind you, but a handful of titles from Blizzard’s library. This was way back before GeForce NOW was even out of beta. At some point leading up to launch, however, Activision Blizzard made the call the pull its games off of NVIDIA’s cloud gaming service.
Years have gone by, but as of this week, Battlenet is back on GeForce NOW and some of Blizzard’s games are now playable in the cloud through Battlenet. Now this isn’t the first time Blizzard’s games have hit GeForce NOW. Both Diablo IV and Overwatch 2 were available earlier this month. But you had to be playing those games on Steam. Today things change and get a little brighter for Battlenet.
All the Battlenet games coming to GeForce NOW this week
Technically, there are four being added if you don’t count Call of Duty HQ as more than one. But that isn’t really the case as Call of Duty HQ is more than one game. Starting today, players can access Hearthstone, Overwatch 2, Diablo IV, and Call of Duty HQ from Battlenet through GeForce NOW. Call of Duty HQ will include multiple games from the franchise, including Warzone and Modern Warfare III. So if you own those games on Battlenet you can now play them on GeForce NOW.
Sadly, there’s no World of Warcraft access on GeForce NOW yet. And there may never be. NVIDIA does say these are the first Battlenet games joining the service though. Which means there will be more at some point. When and what they are is unclear.
As for the remaining games that are joining this week, NVIDIA has added Star Wars: Dark Forces Remaster on Steam, Space Engineers on Xbox, Welcome to ParadiZe on Steam, and Fort Solis on Steam. Worth noting is that these are the last games to join the service for the month of February.
Take a peek at what comes to the service in March
The first round of March GeForce NOW games is still a week away. But NVIDIA is giving us all a look behind the curtain ahead of time. Some of the games coming for March include The Thaumaturge, Classified: France ’44, Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun for Xbox, Hellbreach: Vegas, Alone in the Dark, Palia, Breachway, and quite a few others. Obviously not all of these will arrive next week as these will be spread out throughout the month. And there’s a good chance there will be more games added too.
You can read about each of the new games in NVIDIA’s official blog post. And if you’re not already a GeForce NOW subscriber, now is a good time to check it out. You can set it up for free and test games as a free member so you can see if you like it before paying. Although, the free accounts will also now include ads starting on March 5. So if you decide to keep it you may want to upgrade.
