After skipping the Galaxy S22 FE in 2022, Samsung may not forgo another Fan Edition (FE) affordable flagship phone. Leaks and rumors about the Galaxy S24 FE have begun circulating, with a tipster giving us its early specs. The device is still several months away.

Galaxy S24 FE specs hint at an improved FE model

Samsung went straight from the Galaxy S21 FE to the Galaxy S23 FE. The latter model arrived in October 2023. It is a watered-down version of the Galaxy S23 flagship launched in February last year. The two models differ in several areas, including the chipset and cameras. The company equipped the FE model with a one-year-old processor and less-capable cameras.

It appears the next FE phone will share more with its flagship sibling. According to X tipster @OreXda, the Galaxy S24 FE will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 or Exynos 2400 processor, depending on the market. This is the same processor found in the flagship Galaxy S24 launched in January. Samsung will also give you up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage (UFS 3.1 on the 128GB variant).

The tipster adds that the Galaxy S24 FE will pack a 4,500mAh battery, the same as the S23 FE. This likely means we will get a 6.4/6.5-inch display. The Galaxy S23 has a 6.1-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel, while the Galaxy S24 gets a 6.2-inch screen with the same specs—the newer model upgrades from 1,750 nits of peak brightness to 2,600 nits. Samsung might offer higher brightness on the FE model too.

The rest of the specs are not known. Since the Galaxy S24 FE will probably be around $200 cheaper than the Galaxy S24, Samsung will cut corners in some areas. Cameras could be one of those. Like in the past, the Korean firm may also replace the ultrasonic under-display fingerprint scanner with an optical one. The FE phone will likely miss out on the Armor Aluminum body as well.

More details are awaited

It is still too early for Galaxy S24 FE leaks. Samsung may not unveil the device before September or October. It could shake up a few things before the phone enters production. More concrete information should hit the internet closer to its launch. In the meantime, you can expect more frequent leaks about the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. The new foldables could go official in early July, with the Galaxy Ring accompanying them.
