OnePlus has announced the launch date of its upcoming smartwatch, the OnePlus Watch 2. We knew that it would be launched at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, but we did not know when, until now.
The OnePlus Watch 2 will launch on February 26 in Barcelona
The OnePlus Watch 2 will become official on February 26. That is the date a recent rumor tipped, it was spot on. OnePlus has also started receiving early bird reservations for its upcoming flagship smartwatch.
If you live in the US, you can pledge $0.99 (non-refundable) for an early bird coupon. That coupon will get you a $50 discount coupon once the watch actually launches. OnePlus is also offering a trade-in deal in the US. You can trade any watch in any condition to get $50 off.
If you live in Europe, on the other hand, you also get some perks. You can sign up with your OnePlus account in order to get €30/£30 off the watch price, and a free pair of the OnePlus Buds 3 earbuds… once you make a purchase, of course.
Indian customers are not left out of the equation, not at all. OnePlus is offering an INR1,000 discount on the OnePlus Watch 2, and a free pair of Bullets Wireless Z2 ANC earphones.
OnePlus also confirmed the design of the device
Having said that, the company did share the design of the watch on its official website, and via social media accounts. It will be made out of stainless steel and will include two buttons on the right side.
The top button looks like it will double as a rotating crown, but we’re still not sure about that. This smartwatch does kind of remind us of some Huawei watches when it comes to design. It will seemingly have a standard system for straps, so you should be able to you use your own.
It will come in Black Steel and Radiant Steel colors, and both will come with silicone watch straps. A Sapphire crystal display protection will be included, and a 1.43-inch AMOLED display is rumored. The Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chip is said to fuel the watch. Wear OS 4 will likely come pre-installed on it.
