Majin Bu is a well-known Apple tipster, and he’s right at times, but he also tends to share information frequently, filtered and unfiltered. He does note when he’s not sure of something, and that goes for what we’ll talk about here. In a new post on X, he said that the iPhone 16 models could ditch solid buttons altogether.

A tipster claims that the iPhone 16 series could ditch solid buttons

In his post, he said that the dimensions of the iPhone 16 Pro will “remain the same”. We’ve heard this rumor a number of times thus far, though a slight increase was always mentioned. Why? Well, because of the display size increase. So you can expect a similar footprint, but a slight increase nonetheless.

He continued by saying that “there will be more capacitive touch buttons throughout the 16 series”. He added that “there will be no more solid buttons left”, while also saying that he’s not sure what that means.

When you put it that way, it sounds like Apple is switching to solid-state buttons altogether on the iPhone 16 series. That likely won’t be the case, however. There may be some changes with the ‘Pro’ models, but the regular variants will almost certainly retain physical buttons. We’ll see. That’s why you should take all of this with a grain of salt.

All three rear cameras will see upgrades on the ‘Pro’ models

Majin Bu also noted that main, telephoto, and ultrawide cameras will be upgraded. Chances are he’s talking about the ‘Pro’ models here, though, as he also mentioned an upgrade to a 48-megapixel ultrawide camera.

In his post, he also mentioned something regarding the display sizes. The iPhone 16 Pro could include a 6.27-inch panel, while the ‘Pro Max’ model could utilize a 6.88-inch display. The iPhone 15 has a 6.1-inch display, while the ‘Pro Max’ has a 6.7-inch panel.

At the very end of his post, Majin Bu also mentioned some additional info regarding the iPhone 17 models, but he indirectly said that it’s likely not accurate, so we won’t get into that.
