It turns out that the Phone 15 Pro series customer satisfaction ratings are still declining. This is based on the latest survey from PerfectRec, which is based on over 700,000 user-generated Google reviews.

The iPhone 15 Pro series customer satisfaction ratings are dropping

PerfectRec previously said that the iPhone 15 Pro had a lower customer satisfaction rating than any of its predecessors. 5-star ratings have decreased from 72-percent to 68-percent from October 2023.

Some complaints included poor battery life, and others were complaining about protruding rear cameras. Some reviews mentioned the lack of compelling upgrades compared to the iPhone 14 Pro series. That last one is a bit odd, as the iPhone 15 Pro series did deliver quite a few changes based on Apple’s standards.

If you take a look at the table below, you’ll see how the satisfaction rating varied over the last five months. For the iPhone 15 Pro it was dropping since its launch (September) until December, when it rose, and then it dropped again in January.

The iPhone 15 Pro Max does have better ratings, though

For the iPhone 15 Pro Max things are a bit different. It rose, barely, in October, then it dropped in November. Then it again rose in December and dropped in January. The ‘Pro Max’ model does have a higher customer satisfaction rating than its sibling, though. That was the case in all months since launch.

Despite all this, Apple had a rather good year. It managed to become the world’s number one smartphone manufacturer, based on the information from Canalys. Its smartphone sales did drop by 1% YoY, but that’s nothing compared to Samsung’s 13% decline.

The thing is, having these customer satisfaction ratings in mind, what will 2024 look like? The iPhone 15 Pro series will be around until September, so the vast majority of the year. The iPhone 16 series is not expected to deliver any major improvements, so that could also impact the sales. It will definitely be interesting to see how will things unravel in 2024.
