The Lenovo Legion Go is one of a few different handheld gaming PCs that consumers now have access to. Like those other options, it delivers a portable yet powerful way to enjoy your favorite PC games on the go. Where it sets itself apart is with some of its unique features, and some of the design details.
As a whole, the Legion Go looks pretty similar to other handheld gaming PCs. But it also incorporates some design elements that are meant to be more ergonomic for more comfort during longer play sessions. For instance, button placement on the back of the controller grips makes it easy to tap them without straining or stretching your fingers too much. They sit basically where your fingers would naturally rest so it feels natural to use them. The backs of the controller grips also have a fair bit of contour to better fit the shape of your hands.
Where the Legion Go really gets exciting though is with the FPS mode feature. This is something that only the Legion Go offers, giving it an advantage over other handhelds. With the FPS mode, you can detach the two controllers, and place the right one inside of a controller base to act as a vertical mouse. It’s surprisingly comfortable and natural-feeling to use and more accurate than you might think. This allows you to play your favorite first-person shooters with a mouse and keyboard-style setup. The left controller acts as your WASD movement keys, while the right controller turned vertical mouse has mouse click style buttons for fast firing.
It’s a super neat way to play shooters and likely to be more accurate than using the joysticks for aiming. The Legion Go runs on Windows 11 and comes with a fairly large 8.8-inch QHD screen. It also has up to 1TB of storage, 16GB of RAM, and it uses a Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor with RDNA graphics. You can grab the Legion Go from Lenovo directly starting at $649.99.
