Xiaomi has announced the global availability of the Redmi Note 13 series. The lineup consists of five different models: the base Redmi Note 13 and its 5G version, the Redmi Note 13 Pro and its 5G version, and the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G. There is no 4G version of the latter.
Xiaomi brings its Redmi Note 13 series to global markets
Xiaomi launched the new Note lineup in its home country, China, in September 2023. Earlier this month, it brought the devices to India. The five Redmi Note 13 phones are now going global. The company held a global launch event for the lineup in Thailand earlier today.
As you might expect, the LTE and 5G versions of the base Redmi Note 13 share a lot of specs. Both devices feature a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. However, the 4G version has a peak brightness of 1,800 nits while the 5G version only has 1,000 nits. On the other hand, the latter gets Gorilla Glass 5 and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner while the former gets Gorilla Glass 3 and an under-display fingerprint scanner.
The two models have the same camera setup, though. We are talking about a 108MP primary shooter, an 8MP ultrawide camera, a 2MP macro lens, and a 16MP selfie camera. Additionally, both devices pack a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging (charger included in the box). They also have Dolby Atmos audio and a 3.5mm headphone jack, but only the 4G version offers dual stereo speakers. You get NFC on both models.
The Redmi Note 13 and Redmi Note 13 5G also differ in terms of the chipset. The former has Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 685 while the latter has MediaTek’s Dimensity 6080. Both are 6nm SoCs but boast a peak speed of 2.8GHz and 2.4GHz, respectively. Xiaomi is offering up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage on the devices. The two models run Android 13-based MIUI 14 out of the box and boast IP54 dust and water resistance.
The two Pro models also share the camera setup but differ in other areas
Coming to the Redmi Note 13 Pro and Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G, Xiaomi is giving us an identical 6.67-inch display here. But the 4G model has a peak brightness of 1,300 nits, notably lower than the 4G model’s 1,800 nits. The former also has Gorilla Glass 5 instead of Gorilla Glas Victus. Xiaomi has equipped both devices with an under-display fingerprint scanner, though. They also feature Dolby Atmos audio, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and dual stereo speakers.
Additionally, these two phones share the camera setup which includes a 200MP primary rear camera. The other two rear cameras and the front camera remain unchanged over the non-Pro models. The battery capacity also remains the same but Xiaomi has increased the charging speed to 67W, with a 67W charger coming in the box. There is no change to the IP rating for dust and water resistance, nor the Android 13-based MIUI 14 software.
As far as the chipset is concerned, the Redmi Note 13 Pro is powered by MediaTek’s Heli G99-Ultra, a 6nm chip with a peak speed of 2.2GHz. The 5G model has a much more powerful Snapdragon 7s Gen 2. It is a 4nm SoC operating at up to a 2.4GHz frequency. You get up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 512GB of UFS 2.2 storage on both devices. While both non-Pro models offer up to 1TB of expandable storage, the 5G version of the Pro lacks this option.
The Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G tops the lineup with the beefiest specs
The Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G is an upgrade over the other models in the lineup in many aspects. The display size, refresh rate, and peak brightness (1,800 nits) are unchanged but you now get a 1.5K resolution with Gorilla Glass Victus and Dolby Vision. You get an under-display fingerprint scanner and dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos but no headphone jack. The camera setup remains unchanged over the two Pro models, though.
Elsewhere, Xiaomi has kept the battery capacity at 5,000mAh but you now get a whopping 120W charging. Once again, the charger is included in the box. The Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G is powered by the Dimensity 7200-Ultra. It is a 4nm chipset clocked at 2.8GHz. Xiaomi gives you up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. An IP68 rating, Android 13-based MIUI 14, and Wi-Fi 6 are part of the package.
