Samsung knocked it out of the park with the Galaxy S23 Ultra this year
This year, we started with a bang. Samsung announced the Galaxy S23 series shortly after CES 2023, which set the bar for the year. And Samsung set the bar pretty high. Having knocked it out of the park with the Galaxy S23 Ultra in particular. Samsung took all of the complaints that we, as well as customers, had with the Galaxy S22 Ultra and addressed them all. Making the Galaxy S23 Ultra a no-brainer for most of the year.
For most of the year, I carried the Galaxy S23 Ultra as my secondary device alongside my iPhone 14 Pro. The Galaxy S23 Ultra stayed in my pocket because of three main features. Firstly was the camera. Samsung hasn’t always had the best cameras. The company typically would oversaturate photos coming from its cameras. But that was not the case with Galaxy S23 Ultra. Mix that in with the 10x optical zoom capability and the impressive 200-megapixel primary sensor that is able to provide super detailed photos. And it’s an amazing experience.
The next thing is battery life. For most of the year, no phone could touch the Galaxy S23 Ultra when it came to battery life. I traveled quite a bit with the Galaxy S23 Ultra this year, and it never failed me once. When I’m traveling, I typically use my phone a lot more than on a normal working day. And most phones need to be charged at some point during the day. That’s not the case with the Galaxy S23 Ultra.
Finally, there’s the display. It’s a big, beautiful, curved display. As much as I despise curved displays, the Galaxy S23 Ultra display is not bad. I never had an issue with accidental touches on the Galaxy S23 Ultra, and cases seem to work pretty decently with this curved display – that’s not always the case. Samsung, of course, always puts the latest and greatest displays on its phone, and that was again the case with the Galaxy S23 Ultra. Watching content and browsing the web was a beautiful experience.
Our readers chose the Galaxy S23 Ultra because it’s truly the best in 2023
No phone could touch what the Galaxy S23 Ultra was able to provide in 2023. This means that Samsung set the bar high, even for itself. As we approach the end of 2023, we are looking towards 2024 and the Galaxy S24 (Ultra) launch in January. How can Samsung possibly outdo themselves with the Galaxy S24 Ultra? We can’t wait to see.
Samsung improved battery life, performance, and camera experience greatly and even provided the S Pen with its own slot on the Galaxy S23 Ultra. This makes it more like a Galaxy S23 Note for those who were missing the Galaxy Note that ended a couple of years ago.
This is why the Galaxy S23 Ultra was chosen as the Best Smartphone of the year by AndroidHeadlines’ Readers.
