Samsung has started rolling out the November 2021 Android security patch to its best mid-range phone of this year: the Galaxy A52s 5G. Its slightly less-powerful sibling — Galaxy A52 — is also picking up the new SMR (security maintenance release), SamMobile reports.

According to the new report, the Galaxy A52s 5G is currently receiving the November security update in some Latin American countries. The update bumps the firmware version of the phone to A528BXXS1AUK7. Note that the build number may vary slightly in other regions.

The Galaxy A52, meanwhile, is picking up the latest SMR in Latin America as well as some Asian and European countries. The update bears firmware version A525MUBU4AUJ3 in the former market, while that in Asia and Europe comes with firmware version A525FXXU4AUJ2.

Neither Galaxy A52s 5G nor Galaxy A52 is likely receiving any major user-facing change with this update. We are expecting only the privacy and security fixes that are part and parcel of this month’s SMR. There are quite a few of those though. As detailed by Samsung earlier this month, the November security update patches more than 50 vulnerabilities. These include 13 SVE (Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures) items, which are security flaws affecting the Korean firm’s devices. Google has also fixed a bunch of issues in Android OS with the latest SMR. The company is reporting four of those issues to be of critical severity.

Samsung is treating Galaxy A52, A52s 5G users with November security patch

Samsung has been ever so impressive with its software game recently. While it has consistently put every other Android OEM to shame in terms of releasing the latest security patch to its devices, the Korean giant has also released the Android 12-based One UI 4.0 sooner than before. The Galaxy S21 series received the big update last week.

In the meantime, Samsung hasn’t stopped rolling out the November SMR to eligible Galaxy smartphones and tablets. The Galaxy A52s 5G and Galaxy A52 are the latest beneficiaries of this.

If you’re a Galaxy A52s 5G or Galaxy A52 user, you can expect to receive the new security update soon if you haven’t already. As mentioned before, the update is not yet available globally. But it’s now only a matter of time before the rollout expands to other regions. You can be on the lookout for this update in the coming days. As always, you can check for updates from the Software update menu on your phone’s Settings app.
