Samsung has released a new Android 12-based One UI 4.0 beta build to the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3. It’s the third beta update for the two foldables. The latest release is currently rolling out to users in South Korea but should soon reach other eligible markets. Identified by version ZUKG, the new update brings a handful of bug fixes to the devices.
According to the official changelog, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 are receiving numbers display-related fixes with the latest One UI 4.0 beta build. Firstly, the issue with screen brightness automatically changing to the lowest level when the device is on boot has been fixed. Other fixed issues include the main screen running at a 60Hz refresh rate, stutter issues when unfolding the device after using the secondary display for a prolonged time, and persistent separation lines after opening apps in split-screen.
The changelog also mentions fixes for notification vibration issues, Kakaotalk not working properly, Routines automatically ending, and a few other bugs. You can check out the full changelog (via) for more details, which we have attached at the end of this article.
One UI 4.0 beta for the Galaxy Z Fold 3, Flip 3 is moving along nicely
Samsung launched the One UI 4.0 beta program for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 late last month. It last week rolled out the second beta build to the devices, shortly after releasing the stable One UI 4.0 update to the Galaxy S21 series. Now, less than a week after that release, we have another beta update coming the two foldables’ way. This suggests that we are rapidly getting closer to a stable update.
Moreover, the latest release is all about bug fixes rather than new features. So it could very well be the last or at least the penultimate One UI 4.0 beta update for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3. We would not be surprised if the stable update comes by the end of this month or early next month. We will keep you posted.
Meanwhile, if you’re a Galaxy Z Fold 3 or Galaxy Z Flip 3 user and have enrolled in the One UI 4.0 beta program, you can expect to receive the latest beta release soon. As said before, the new update is currently available to users in the US. The rollout should expand to the US in the coming days. As always, you can check for updates from the Software update menu in your phone’s Settings app.
