The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models launched with an Action Button a couple of months ago. The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, however, did not. Well, according to a new report, the entire iPhone 16 lineup will include an Action Button.
All iPhone 16 models will feature an Action Button, it seems
This info comes from MacRumors, as the site claims to have seen “extensive evidence” of this. So, by the looks of it, four smartphones will include it, as Apple will seemingly stick with a similar setup next year.
The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max were also expected to include haptic power and volume buttons. Those plans were canceled prior to launch, so we ended up with an Action Button only.
Having said that, the Action Button is customizable, and more useful than a mute switch. You can launch a camera with it, turn on the flashlight, launch the Shortcuts app, and more. All that in addition to the fact you can mute the phone, of course.
A ‘Capture Button’ could also be included
The Action Button will include a force sensor that detects changes in pressure. It will also include “tact-switching functionality”. Do note that the additional ‘Capture Button’ is also rumored. That button will seemingly have the same hardware as the Action Button.
The iPhone 16 series is expected to arrive in September 2024. Expect to see some increases in display sizes, and overall sizes of the devices. That will especially be true when it comes to the ‘Pro’ lineup, we’re still not sure about the regular models.
The iPhone 16 Pro is expected to utilize the tetraprism lens, the one used in the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Only the ‘Pro Max’ has it this time around, but both will utilize it starting next year. The iPhone 16 Pro will be a bit bigger, as that was seemingly the biggest problem for Apple with the iPhone 15 Pro.
