ETM is ready to spread some holiday cheer with the December 1st release of Stephanie Garvin’s directorial debut Holiday Twist. The upcoming film stars Kelly Stables (Superstore) as “anti-Christmas Connie” (as she’s referenced in the trailer below), a high-powered female executive and Grinchy workaholic CEO, whose whole world comes crashing down because of unforeseen circumstances despite her self-perceived importance. With help from a Salvation Army Santa (paraplegic athlete Blake Leeper in his film debut) and a little holiday magic, the protagonist finally realizes the key to letting go of her painful past is the answer to becoming the twinkling light that both her community and her family need.

Led by Stables, who is best known for her roles in Two and a Half Men, The Exes, and Superstore, the ensemble cast also counts on the efforts of seasoned actors Neal McDonough and Sean Astin.
McDonough’s notable credits include Band of Brothers, Desperate Housewives, Arrow, The Flash, Suits, and Yellowstone. Astin meanwhile is a former child actor who made his film debut in Steven Spielberg’s 1985 cult classic The Goonies as Mikey Walsh. His later credits include Toy Soldiers, Rudy, The Lord of the Rings trilogy, and Netflix’s Stranger Things, where he starred as Bob Newby during the sci-fi series’ second season. Astin is the recipient of a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture for The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. His upcoming credits include another holiday-centered project as he’ll voice Ebenezer Scrooge in the podcast series Scrooge: A Christmas Carol.
Holiday Twist also features James Maslow (Big Time Rush), Emily Tosta (Mayans M.C.), Caylee Cowan (Willy’s Wonderland), Drew Fuller (Charmed), Brian Thomas Smith (The Big Bang Theory), Haley Reinhart (American Idol), and Kelli Mi Li (Bling Empire), and introduces Leeper, singer-songwriter Jake Miller, and TikTok star Montana Tucker.
Director Stephanie Garvin Seeks to Inspire Through Holiday Twist
Along with being at the helm of Holiday Twist, Stephanie Garvin wrote the film and co-produces alongside veteran Home Alone producer Scott M. Rosenfelt. Garvin, who has served as a producer on films like Mr. Nelson on the North Side and The Trial of the Chicago 7, and is the founder of ETM Pictures. Garvin’s production company focuses on inspiring stories that promote human growth.
In a statement discussing Holiday Twist, Garvin shared:
“In my feature film directorial debut, I am thankful for the invaluable collaboration with and support from my outstanding cast, crew, and producer teams. Through many trials and tribulations, we managed to stay independent and create a family oriented movie with an original music sound track designed to be a light for people who are suffering in many ways through tough times,” Garvin said. “It’s a story of overcoming adversity, rolling with the punches, and finding joy in the journey along the rocky road of life. It’s my personal passion that it will inspire audiences to be resilient, forgiving and transformative.”
