Chinese device certification database, TENAA, has revealed two upcoming smartphones in the Motorola Edge lineup. The first one is called the Motorola Edge X, though it could be known as the Edge 30 Ultra when it breaks cover (in global markets). The second device goes by Motorola Edge S30, which we’ve come across in previous leaks.
The Motorola Edge X comes with a 6.67-inch OLED FHD+ screen with a 144Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. The device is slightly bulky at 201 grams, though it is only 8.4mm thick, according to the TENAA database (via).
It also features the yet-to-be-released Snapdragon 898 SoC along with 8 or 12GB of RAM. Additionally, the Edge X would offer 128/256GB of internal storage. The 4,700mAh battery is backed by 68.2W fast charging support. This should allow the phone to charge up to 50% in only 15 minutes while recharging it fully should take around 35 minutes.
The Motorola Edge X will bring triple rear cameras, including two 50-megapixel sensors and a solitary 2-megapixel sensor for macro shots. Meanwhile, the Lenovo-owned manufacturer is using a mammoth 60-megapixel front camera.
The Motorola Edge S30 will bring 10X optical zoom through its 108-megapixel primary camera
The Motorola Edge S30 brings a 6.78-inch LCD panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution. It brings a 108-megapixel rear camera with 10X optical zoom and a punch-hole selfie camera, in line with previous reports. Although we don’t have information on the rest of the cameras, the suspense may not last long.
The Edge S30 will also offer the octa-core Snapdragon 888+ chipset though there’s no word on the RAM or storage variants available. We do know that this device sports a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and a 4,700mAh battery with similar, if not better, charging speeds as the Edge X.
Recent leaks have suggested that the two new phones will launch in China next month. We’ve also come across reports mentioning a November release date, though it hasn’t materialized yet.
Motorola appears to be heading for a busy holiday season as it prepares to launch a handful of devices. The manufacturer officially released the moto Watch 100 on Tuesday following several leaks. Its $99 price tag will likely make it a hot ticket item as we head into 2022.
