Ads are a part of our modern age. Just about every online platform you use has advertisements of some sort and, most of the time, you just have to deal with them. However, if you don’t want to bother with the ads being shown on TikTok, then a monthly subscription might be in your future.
While we have it on good authority (Android Authority, in fact) that the company is working on this, you’ll want to take this with a grain of salt. AA discovered this through code hidden within the app. Since it wasn’t officially announced by the company, there’s a chance that it could scrap this idea.
TikTok could be testing a monthly subscription service
When you’re using TikTok, you’ll run into ads from time to time. They’re not horrible, but they don’t fit well with your binge-watching. So, the company might be testing a subscription service that will allow users to pay a monthly fee to get rid of the ads.

You also accept the immediate provision of the Ad-free subscription. Price includes VAT.
This is the text, we see the tech that would most likely appear in a popup telling users about the plan within the app. This reveals that the plan will cost $4.99/month. That doesn’t seem to be too high of a price, but it might be a bit much just to get rid of ads.
Right now, we don’t know if TikTok is planning on adding additional features along with this plan. Snapchat+ costs the same per month, and you get a fair number of features and perks. Hopefully, the company will offer its users some more perks when/if it goes through with the subscription service.
