AYANEO is cranking out handheld gaming PCs left and right it looks like with its latest being the AYANEO Slide. This device has a hidden physical keyboard that sits underneath what AYANEO is calling a floating display. Simply slide the display upwards to reveal a full set of keys. Thus the handheld lives up to its namesake. AYANEO also mentions that the keyboard is ergonomic which means it should be pretty easy and comfortable to type on this thing. It even supports colorful lighting effects.

Like other AYANEO handhelds (and devices like the Steam Deck)the Slide PC is packed with an AMD Ryzen flagship processor. This one specifically is the Ryzen 7 7840U processor. In terms of other specs, it has 6-inch 1080p screen which is decent for a handheld. It’s by no means as nice as the display on the KUN that the company announced at the end of last month. But then again the AYANEO Kun is also the company’s new high-end model.

What’s always nice to see is when companies use Hall sensing joysticks and Hall sensing triggers. And AYANEO has been using both of them on all its handhelds. They’re present on the Slide too and that’s good news for anyone who’s ever had to deal with stick drift.

The AYANEO Slide PC doesn’t have a release date

AYANEO had planned to launch this device in the second quarter of this year after its announcement in January. But Those plans don’t seem to have panned out. For now, those interested in getting one can sign up to be notified about the early bird pricing and the launch pricing once those go live. Currently the Slide’s indiegogo campaign page is up but the campaign itself isn’t actually live. You’ll also need to sign up if you want the early bird pricing as it doesn’t seem like you can get it if you don’t.

One thing you’ll probably notice about the Slide is that it’s a thick boy. Unlike the Pocket S or even the KUN, the Slide is relatively chunky for a handheld PC. That being said, this has to do with both the PC components and the keyboard components being stuffed into the unit. So you’re giving up a little bit of that slim design to have a better typing experience.
