Samsung is gearing up to launch its first-ever Fan Edition (FE) TWS earbuds. The Galaxy Buds FE is expected to arrive soon with a relatively affordable price tag. Ahead of its official unveiling, a major leak has revealed pretty much everything you need to know about the new pair of wireless earphones.

Leaked Galaxy Buds FE specs and features

The Galaxy Buds FE will feature a single 12mm driver tuned by AKG, a subsidiary of Samsung-owned audio company Harman. Each bud houses three microphones that help deliver effective ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) and ambient mode. Samsung has also included a 3-way speaker for an immersive audio experience. We are expecting support for AAC and SSC codecs and an audio equalizer.

Samsung is reportedly readying the new earbuds in graphite and white colors with a matte finish, though the case gets a glossy white paint on the outside as standard. Each bud has a touch panel on the outside for swift controls, including media playback and calls. The case has charging indicators on the inside and outside.

The Galaxy Buds FE boasts Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity and offers features such as wear detection, Auto Switch, SmartThings Find compatibility, and Fast Pair. Considering that even entry-level TWS earbuds now come with an IP rating for water resistance, the new Samsung earbuds should have it as well. We are still waiting for confirmation on the precise rating, though.

Battery capacities of the buds and the case are not known. While we are expecting some sort of fast charging here, the earphones appear to be missing wireless charging support. The case features a USB Type-C port for power input. The retail box will include a Type-C cable but not a power adapter. Samsung is reportedly considering pricing the Galaxy Buds FE at $99 in the US.

Samsung will launch the new buds soon

As of this writing, Samsung hasn’t officially revealed the launch date of the Galaxy Buds FE. However, the earbuds are expected to arrive alongside the Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Tab S9 FE, and Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ next month. The Korean firm has already started teasing the latter products, hinting at an early October launch. It also has the Galaxy Tab A9, Galaxy Tab A9+, and Galaxy SmartTag 2 in the works. It’s unclear if all seven of these products will debut on the same day or if Samsung will launch a few separately. We should have an answer soon.
