“Dark Harvest is a chilling tale set in a cursed town, where every Halloween becomes a brutal battle for survival. During the fall of 1963, the terrifying legend Sawtooth Jack rises from the cornfields and makes its way toward town, where gangs of eighteen-year-old boys stand ready to slaughter the murderous scarecrow before midnight. Among the boys is Richie, a rebellious outcast yearning to break free from the town’s curse, driven by his brother’s victory the year before. As the hunt progresses, secrets are revealed, leading Richie to a shocking discovery and a fateful decision that could break the vicious cycle once and for all. Adapted from the bestselling novel by Norman Patridge, the film is directed by David Slade and written by Michael Gilio.”
Dark Harvest stars Casey Likes (Krampus: Origins), E’myri Crutchfield (Fargo), Jeremy Davies (Black Phone), Elizabeth Reaser (Twilight), and Luke Kirby (Halloween: Resurrection).
Norman Partridge’s Great Contribution to Horror
Maybe when thinking about horror books, names like Edgar Allan Poe, H. P. Lovecraft or even Stephen King and R. L. Stine are the first ones that come to anyone’s mind, but there is no doubt that Norman Partridge has contributed a lot to the genre.
The American author has written an enormous number of stories throughout his career, including short stories featured across different collections such as Mr. Fox & Other Feral Tales, Bad Intentions or The Man with the Barbed-Wire Fists. In addition to Dark Harvest, he has also published several novels, including one for The Crow franchise, titled The Crow: Wicked Prayer, which was made into a film in 2005.
The Crow is currently being reworked as a reboot, with IT and John Wick: Chapter 4 star Bill Skarsgård as the lead character, Eric Draven. The movie will be directed by Rupert Sanders from a script written by Zach Baylin and Will Schneider, and also stars FKA Twigs, Isabella Wei, Danny Huston, Laura Birn, Sami Bouajila, and Jordan Bolger. The story focuses on a musician who is murdered along with his fiancée, and comes back to life looking for justice and revenge.
Partridge has also contributed to the world of mystery with his detective series starring Jack Baddalach, which includes the titles Saguaro Riptide and The Ten Ounce Siesta.
