According to a new survey by SellCell, 44% of Samsung Galaxy S22 users plan to get the ‘Ultra’ model. SellCell, for those of you who don’t know, is a phone trade-in comparison site. The survey was launched to see how interested people would be in each Galaxy S22 model.
Most users prefer the Galaxy S22 Ultra model over its siblings
To be more accurate, 44.4% of users said they’d be most interested in the ‘Ultra’ variant. Following the ‘Ultra’, 30.1% of users said they’d be most interested in the Galaxy S22. 25.5% of users opted for the Galaxy S22+.
10,678 people voted in this survey, and they were all over the age of 18, and from the US. What’s interesting is that only 20% said that they’re planning to upgrade to any model from Samsung’s upcoming smartphones.
Such results have been expected, as the Galaxy S21 Ultra has been the most popular S21 model on the site. In general, people who are interested in Samsung’s latest flagships lean towards the ‘Ultra’ model.
“Upgraders are more concerned about having premium features than how much the handset will cost, proven by the overwhelming popularity of the S22 Ultra upgrade intention”, said the company.
The Galaxy S22 Ultra will basically succeed the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra
As a reminder, the Galaxy S22 Ultra will essentially be a successor to the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. That is another reason why more people may be interested in it. The Galaxy Note 20 Ultra launched back in 2020, and it didn’t get a successor, yet.
The Galaxy S22 Ultra will not only have the S Pen and a dock for it, but it will also look quite similar to the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. It will have a curved display, and a completely flat top and bottom sides.
All three Galaxy S22 series smartphones will launch on February 9, during Samsung’s next Unpacked event. If you’d like to know more about them, check out our Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra previews.
